Former First Lady Nana Konadu Says On Two Occasions In The Past She Almost Suffered Miscarriages Due To Her Activism

The former first lady, who left the NDC after some misunderstandings to form the National Democratic Party (NDP), said her time as a first lady was far from rosy; as most people imagined it.

Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, who was speaking on the Super Morning show on Joy fm, also added that her activism almost cost her pregnancies, on two separate occasions.

“I think I set a duty to myself that I was going to bring women on board and I went along that passion” she said, speaking on what motivated for her strong women’s activism, which she has become well known for.

“There were no trappings for me….the work took more from me than the trappings of the position”

She said the ups and downs, at a time the road network was not the best in the country; almost cost her dearly.

“With my pregnancy, sometimes my stomach was bouncing up and down, on two occasions I almost had miscarriages’ she recalled

Nana Konadu also touched on her daughter Zenator’s run for parliament, and said that though she disagreed with her choice of NDC and would not campaign for her, she would still give her all the needed advice.

“Maybe I won’t stand on her platform, but I will give her the meanderings of how to get to her destination”, she said
