Radio and television personality Akumaa Mama Zimbi, known in private life as Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi- says she always tries her possible best to be outstanding in the showbiz industry.
Akumaa, speaking in an interview with Delay on the Delay Show on Viasat 1 revealed that her choice for headgear is part of her brand—which distinguishes her from others.
According to her, depending on where she is going and the people she is meeting, the style, pattern and size of her headgear varies.
“You see, when you enter into the showbiz industry, you need to be noticed and for me, I don’t think there is a need for you to do what the others are doing, you need to be different and that has been me. I came with my headgear style,” she said.
Akumaa, who has been a relationship and marriage counselor for fourteen years and has had many couples turn to her for solutions to problems in their relationships; revealed in a recent interview that she has her own share of problems in her marriage.
“People assume that because I am a marriage counselor and because of the way I advise people on my Odo Ahomaso talk show on Adom FM, I do not have problems in my marriage.
“The truth is my marriage is not perfect, I am also as human as my clients are and definitely I have issues with my husband but any time I do, I turn to my mom for help”, she disclosed.
She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Mama Zimbi Foundation (MZF), a non-governmental organization which seeks to empower and support widows through its Widows Alliance Network (WANE) project.
