Woman Murdered After Burning Her Rival At Akyem Kusi In Ghana

The Akwatia Police Command has launched an investigation into a case which led to the deaths of two women who fought over a cheating partner at Akyem Kusi near Akwatia in the Eastern region.

Starr News reports that some angry residents at Akyem Kusi put the law into their own hands—and killed a woman who allegedly murdered her rival after she caught her in bed with her boyfriend.

“The guy and his girlfriend have settled here (Kusi) and they are into galamsey. But the guy has gone in for another girl behind his woman. Now the first girl who had traveled to their hometown returned and strangely found the new girl and her boyfriend in bed.

“She immediately struck her and set her on fire while she was still bleeding,” an eyewitness narrated.

He added: “But the residents heard of what she did and they pounced on her and beat her up until she also passed on”.

Sources say fear and panic has engulfed people in the community after the incident.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Akwatia Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
