The Battle Between the Church & Homosexuals | The Gays Are Winning As Ghana’s Former Presby Moderator Quits Church

What has created a hostile relationship between believers and homosexuals in most parts of Africa including Ghana is the church—as countless doctrines of the church condemn homosexuals and brand same sex relationship evil.

While religious dogmatism take center-stage in Africa, the West have decided to grow beyond this—decorating their enviable version of civilisation with valuable principles such as treating all persons equal, irrespective of their colour, gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity.

In light of the above, the Presbyterian Church in the USA announced earlier this year that it would “formally approve gay marriages”

That was even before the famous US Supreme Court verdict, that homosexuals have a constitutional right to marry—and therefore a denial of this right would be a violation of the supreme law of the land.

When the US Presbyterian Church made its Gay approval announcement, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana jumped to their neck—promising to sever all ties with them.

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey at the time said: “the US Presbyterian church is not a “bible-believing church” and Ghana will have no part in accepting a demonic practice.

He continued: “It is only the church…the true church that Satan is afraid of. Satan is not afraid of United States army or any other army. It is only the church…the church of Christ.”

He added that his heart bleeds for any church which accepts homosexuality and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana wouldn’t be force to become satanic.

True to his words, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey reportedly wrote to the immediate past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso who has been heading the New York’s branch of Ghana’s Presbyterian Church—giving him up to 31st December, 2015 to return to Ghana.

And guess what, Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso  has resigned—a clear indication that he does not approve of Ghana’s Presbyterian Church’s continuous demonization of homosexuals.

He has not resigned from the Presbyterian Church in New York where Gay rights are recgonised, but he has terminated his connection with the Church in Ghana—where homosexuals are openly condemned.

In an interview with Adom News, Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso said:

“I was not given a hearing before they took the decision to recall me. I think it is disrespectful to my person and ministry.”

“Nobody spoke to me to find out what is going on. My appointment to the US was confirmed by a letter from the Session Clerk after a discussion. Thanks be to God, the work I was sent to do has been blessed, and the congregation has given me an extention of my appointment.”

He added, “I have served the Presbyterian church all this while, and I believe there should have been a discussion before such a decision is taken.I cannot serve two masters so I will stay here, do the work of God and win more souls for Christ.”

As usual, while the rest of the world drives towards secularism with strong human principles, Africa sits at the far end, binging on Bronze Age mythology, morals and values—fueling religious dogmatism and bigotry.
