New HBO Show Likely To Push Back Premiere Of Game Of Thrones Season 6 To May 2016

For all Game of Thrones fans anxiously awaiting the premiere of season 6, eager to find out what happens after the stabbing of ‘you-know-who’; prepare to wait a couple of weeks more.

Because a new HBO show that has the same time slot as Thrones (9:00PM Eastern), Vinyl, is set to end in the middle of April, traditionally the time Game of Thrones premieres.

Considering HBO normally leaves a week between finales and the premiere of new shows, and Vinyl ends on April 17- fans are not likely to see the first episode of GOT Season 6 until May rolls around.

As Game of Thrones fan site WatchersOnTheWall put it…

“With the exception of season 3, which began in March, Game of Thrones has always premiered in early to mid April. At the earliest, episode 1 will air on April 24. However, HBO often leaves an empty week between its shows’ finales and and premieres. So, it’s quite possible that season 6 won’t begin until May.”

Not good.
