They denied us Cup of Nations glory in January, and just completed the double over us with another painful elimination.

The Local Black Stars lost 1-0 in Abidjan to their Ivorian counterparts on Friday, knocking them out of contention for the 2016 African Nations Championships set to be held in Rwanda.

Striker Boua Koffi Davy scored the winner in the 35th minute, connecting Cheick Moukoro’s cross to hand Cote d’Ivoire the slim 1-0 win.

Despite winning the first leg 2-1, the 2-2 aggregate scoreline favoured Cote d’Ivoire, who qualified on the away goals rule.

This is the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2009 that Ghana has failed to qualify.

The tournament runs from January 16- February 7, 2016.
