Consummate comedian and actor Rowan Atkinson, has been officially separated from his wife of 24 years by a court order.
Make-up artist Sunetra Sastry, who has been married to the ‘Johnny English’ actor since 1990, was granted a decree nissi by a district judge at the Central Family Court, speeding up divorce proceedings.
The order was granted on the basis of ‘unreasonable behaviour’ on the part of the 60 year old actor. The entire proceedings, which Atkinson was not present for- lasted for all of 65 seconds.
Atkinson has been dating 32-year-old comedian Louise Ford for the past eighteen months, and this frees them for any steps they might want to take in their relationship. The duo met during production of the West End play Quartermaine’s Terms in 2013.
