Ghanaian comedian and actor, Kwame Dzokoto- known as Judge Koboo in Efiawura TV Series will stand on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the upcoming general elections in 2016.

Kwame Dzokoto who was very optimistic to win the Tarkwa Nsuaem slot garnered 1,415 votes, while his competitor, Mr Thomas Otchere got 402 votes.

He earlier predicted a whopping 75 percent win in the primaries.

Kwame, who was ridiculed for announcing his aspiration as a legislator said in a recent interview that parliament is a serious business and he ain’t gonna joke over there.

“I have heard somebody say that Kwame is going to Parliament; does he think we are going to do concert there? So I asked myself this; we equally have doctors in Parliament; does it mean they are injecting people or giving clinical services there?,” he told Obrempong Yaw Ampofo, Western Regional Correspondent of Citi FM.

“That is not the case; they are representing the people to ensure that the right things are done in terms of passing laws; so that’s the job I am going to do there.”

“What I was doing in terms of entertainment or showbiz was also public service; but this is also public service on a different platform. This one is basically serving the people directly and they are going to give you a mandate to go and speak on their behalf. And they believe that I have the connections and links so I can easily lobby for things to get to them,” he indicated his readiness to serve his constituents.
