The despicable Paris terrorist attacks targeted multiple locations- but the worst hit was the Bataclan concert hall, where US band Eagles of Death Metal were holding a concert.

89 of the 130 people killed during the attacks where killed at the Bataclan, but the band were able to extricate themselves safely. It wasn’t without casualties, however, as some of their crew members, as well as labelmates- died.

Speaking on the terror with documentary show Vice, lead member Jesse Hughes spoke about how some fans used their dressing room as a hiding place, although it didn’t do them much good.

“Several people hid in our dressing room and the killers were able to get in and killed every one of them, except for a kid who was hiding under my leather jacket.” He said.

Hughes also spoke of the heroism of many concert-goers, who simply refused to leave their loved ones behind.

“People were playing dead and they were so scared – a great reason so many were killed was because so many people wouldn’t leave their friends. So many people put themselves in front of people.”

Of those killed at the concert, the band lost their merchandise manager, 36-year-old Briton Nick Alexander, and colleagues from their record label – Thomas Ayad, Marie Mosser, and Manu Perez.
