This is not a satire- Ayittey Powers made these remarks in all seriousness, apparently without displaying any irony.
Ayittey Powers is currently preparing to take on Bukom Banku in the rematch of their hugely anticipated fight. Speaking on Citi FM, not only did he promise to beat Banku, but he also said he is targeting a world championship belt in the next two years.
“I am here to make a claim in the sport of boxing. I want people to expect the unexpected.
“Mark my words. I will be a world boxing champion in a year or two.” he said.
We’ re talking about the guy who has more losses than wins as a professional. There are boxers with 90% win rations who cannot get world title fights. We’re also talking about the horribly out of shape guy who danced around the ring with Banku for 12 rounds, after running out of energy in Round2.
Although as the saying goes ‘when you dream, dream big’; so I suppose we should allow him. The rematch of the Bukom Banku- Ayittey Powers fight comes on this Boxing day, December 26 2015, at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
