Boko Haram continues to terrorise not just Nigeria, but other countries in the sub region.
A series of blasts on an Island on Lake Chad has killed at least 27 people, the BBC has reported.
The blasts occurred on the Island of Koulfoua, on the Chadian side of the lake. It hit a weekly market, as markets are crowded areas that are often targets in Boko Haram attacks.
The BBC notes that thousands of people fleeing the violence of the group seeks refuge on the Island.
Chad has been taking part in multinational efforts to combat the menace of the group, supplying troops and other assistance to Nigeria.
