They told us we would pay for fuelling the barge, and we are going to fuel the barge.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced an increase in electricity and water tariffs, effective one week from now.
The regulatory bodies of these amenities have been pushing for an increment for the past few months, arguing that Ghanaians are underpaying for the services we enjoy. I know, what services?
Electricity has been increased by 59.2%, whilst water has also been increased by 67.2%. The PURC say the decision was informed by several factors including consumer interest, investor interest, economic development of the country, generation mix, and availability of the service.
The increments take effect on December 14, 2015.
