Imagine the furore if John Mahama had decided to give himself a national award?

At a special event held in Accra Friday, President John Dramani Mahama awarded several prominent Ghanaians with the highest national award- the Order of the Star of the Volta.

Others include Dr. Kwesi Botchwey, the Agogohene, Nana Akuako Sarpong, Nana Ato Dadzie, Ato Ahwoi, and Lt. Gen. Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd),

The Order of the Star of the Volta is one of Ghana’s highest national awards, awarded to those who have played exceptional roles in the development of the country.
