Bill Cosby’s argument is that over forty different women want to extort him, and have concocted unique but similar stories of his predilection to drug and then molest women.
But that is the way of civilised society, where the law is the final arbiter of issues. It is Cosby’s right to sue, just as it this that of the molested ladies to seek compensation.
Cosby has sued seven of the ladies involved in lawsuits against him for his alleged s*xual assault against them during past decades. The ladies, part of over three dozen accusing the comic legend of assault, sued him for unspecified damages, claiming his representatives attempted to tarnish their images after going public with their ordeals.
Cosby, in a twist of fate, has counter sued the same ladies for similar damages. He says they are intentionally lying to tarnish his image and extort money from him.
According to the BBC, the 78 year old called their accusations “nothing more than an opportunistic attempt to extract financial gain from him”, and described their actions as “morally repugnant”
The seven ladies being sued are Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie. He is seeking unspecified monetary damages, saying their conduct caused him emotional distress.
