The King has done it again!
Michael Jackson’s critically acclaimed album ‘Thriller’ has now sold a whopping 30 million copies in the US and is now the first album to be certified 30 times multi-platinum.
The album, which has sold over a hundred million copies is renowned for its multiple smash hits including ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Beat It’ and the title track ‘Thriller’.
“RIAA has awarded Gold & Platinum records on behalf of the music business for nearly 60 years, but this is the first time an artist has crossed the 30X multi-Platinum plateau,” The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) chairman and CEO Cary Sherman said in a statement.
“We are honored to celebrate the unique status of Thriller in Gold & Platinum history. What an exceptional achievement and testament to Thriller’s enduring spot in our hearts and musical history.”
Congratulations are certainly in order for the Greatest Entertainer of all Times!
