Sad news for Celine Dion, having to deal with two such tragedies in a short space of time.
Her brother Daniel Dion, passed away in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 59. Daniel suffered from cancer of the throat, tongue and brain.
A family member confirmed the news to the newspaper Le Journal de Montréal; noting that he passed away surrounded by family who knew his time was up.
“He was ready and he no longer suffers,” Claudette Dion, another of Celine’s 13 siblings, told the newspaper.“It was serene.”
This news, coming just days after the loss of her husband, should prove devastating to the singer. René Angélil passed away on the morning of Thursday, January 14, succumbing to the throat cancer he had been fighting for over a decade. The 73 year old for several years served not only as the talented singer’s husband, but her mentor and manager as well; before the extremities of his condition curtailed his role.
