CHRIS-VINCENT Writes: The Malarkey & Hubris of Ghanaian Politics | What It Actually Means to the NDC & NPP for ‘Kayayoes’ to Donate 5000 GHS to the Latter

Kayayei-620x330
Politics is cunningly regarded by those who understand the make-up of it as ‘politricks’ but to the masses, it remains the only hope for a better future.
It takes a man with no conscience to succeed in politics; a man who can knit and present propaganda as the sole truth of the day to be able to rally the needed support on the back of deceit to win a political power.
The masses are mostly deemed stupid—when in reality they are frequently exploited by political demagogues, who without shame continue to disappoint the masses such that at the end of the day, their trust measures well as stupidity.
All around the world, politics boasts of integrity but it’s that hell of a discipline a person of integrity would least excel. It’s not by coincidence that we have a bunch of miscreants occupying every political seat in the world—only they can flourish in this bonkers game.
To illustrate the cheap propaganda politics thrives on, especially in Ghana—I’ve decided to take a look at yesterday’s donation of 5000 GHS by a supposed ‘Association of Kayayoes in Kumasi.’
It’s interesting, perhaps, unbelievable for an association of struggling and largely homeless street workers to donate any amount of money to a political party—instead of investing it in the needs of it utterly underprivileged members.
But reports say, such an association in Kumasi found it prudent against all odds to donate 5000 GHS to the NPP so we cannot dispute it.
At least, I should mention that, it is not beyond the scope of plausibility to assume that any of the rich NPP leaders or members could have given this money to the said association to donate, to stage a political gimmick.

Following this unreasonable donation, various staunch members of the NPP on social media have eloquently argued that, the donation symbolizes that even ‘Kayayoes’ in Ghana have had enough under the governance of John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.
And as such, they are keen to help in anyway possible to ensure the NPP wins the next general elections—as they are sure, things will be better under Nana Akufo Addo’s administration.
That’s a clever deduction: in fact, it touches the heart to hear that these struggling men and women on the streets of Kumasi are so fed up to the extent they would forfeit the comfort they could obtain by improving their lives with this amount to donate it to a political party they trust will change things for the better.
You’ve just heard one side of the argument; albeit it being so on point, wait for what the NDC folks had to say about the same donation. Politics is really a force for evil.

  1. Say some again sir. Say some. Ghana and its democracy are permanently broken. We will exchange one set of tricksters for another set. Keep hammering these men and women whose only business plan is to find ways to hang on to power so they can continue to rip the nations and especially it poorest off.
