One half of the hiplife music group Keche, Andrew- has bemoaned the proclivity of Ghanaians to judge people just based on the fact that they have tattoos on their body.
The ripped Andrew, who has about 25 tattoos on his body, said in an interview that he cannot just be judged as a gangster just because of the fact that he has tattoos on his body.
“I have in a few instances encountered people who see you different because you have tattoos. I am an artiste and I really appreciate artistic creations; to me tattoos are nothing but a form of inspiration in a way of appreciating art,” he said.
“Aside art, tattoos are a way of showing loyalty to things that really mean the world to you. Lest we forget tattoos have been around for centuries and have served different purposes. So it is very important to understand why someone inks rather than automatically judge them.” He further added, elaborating on why he gets tattoos.
He also explained the importance of the tattoos he has on his body, which includes one of his daughter, one of the group’s name (Keche) and another of an eagle, which represents his ambitions.
“These three mean a lot to me, my daughter’s name (Giovanna) reminds me of that responsible role I have to play each day as a proud father. I decided to tattoo KECHE because the group is our legacy. We’ve been through a lot and anytime I look at it, it puts a smile on my face. For the eagle, it represents my ambitions, the eagle is always flying high and that’s exactly what I’m aiming for,”
He also added that he would put more ink on his body in times to come.
