Zayn Malik is apparently building a reputation in media circles that would not help him going forward, as just within the past week he has cancelled two media appearances, at the last minute.
Obviously one can have troubles with scheduling and all that, but the media also runs on a schedule, and giving them ample time to find a replacement if you want to cancel an appointment is not only an unwritten rule, but the decent thing to do.
After Zayn Malik cancelled another appointment, this time on BBC Radio 1, Piers Morgan lost his cool with the former One Direction artist on Good Morning Britain. He laid into him for his disrespectful attitude, claiming Malik’s attitude was always not predisposed for the career he was indulged in.
“I interviewed them all (One Direction) for a YouTube thing two years ago, before he left the band… he was just surly the entire time,” Piers said.
“I thought, ‘if you don’t wanna be a popstar, go and do something else. Go and clean drains’.
“Now he’s being deliberately rude to people, being rude, pulling out of interviews, being difficult. Get over yourself, mate, you’re a multimillionaire popstar” He emphatically added, before labelling him “the serial pain in the backside of the music industry”
Malik had cancelled an appearance on the Graham Norton show last week, also at the last minute, and it seemed twice in quick sucession just proved too much for Morgan’s acerbic tongue to keep from commenting.
