You can already feel this is going to finally be the year for DiCaprio’s Oscar win, as his performance in ‘The Revenant’ dominates the award circuit prior to the Academy Awards.
DiCaprio took home the night’s biggest award, rewarded with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for ‘Best Actor’; for his stunning performance in ‘The Revenant’.
The movie’s director Alejandro G. Inarritu, also picked up the gong for ‘best director’; whilst the movie won in three other categories.
Best Actress went to Brie Larson, for her performance in ‘Room’. Other winners on the night included ‘Mad Max; Fury Road’, ‘The Big Short’ and Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’ for ‘best original music’.
The 69th British Academy Film Awards was held at the Royal Opera House in London, and was hosted by Stephen Fry.
