A plane with 21 people on board disappeared off radar, and was later discovered to have crashed in the mountainous regions of Northern Nepal Wednesday morning.
The twin Otter aircraft, operated by Tara Air, took off from the city of Pokhara to Jomsom, a flight that was to take a total of nineteen minutes- but contact was lost with the plane eight minutes after take-off.
It was initially feared missing, but then residents in Nepal’s Myagdi District saw flames erupting from a nearby forests, prompting them to call authorities who found the wreckage.
The plane was carrying 18 passengers and three crew members, mostly Nepalese. There were two foreigners on board- Chinese and Kuwaiti nationals.
