These are the kind of challenges a lot of families and communities face in this country, and instead of doing something about it, we have our politicians squandering money left, right and centre.
For every cedi wasted on bus rebranding or funnelled into front organisations like GYEEDA and SADA, there is a real child somewhere else in this country suffering due to corruption, incompetence, and sheer indifference.
At least Dr Bawumia decided to do something about it when the information came out, obvious political undertones aside.
The NPP running mate visited the Kperisi M.A. Primary School in the Wa Municipality, after media reports put the spotlight on their plight, with practically every child in the school forced to learn whilst sitting or lying on the bare floor, due to a lack of furniture.
During his visit, he announced he has ordered 500 tables and chairs for the school.
In another bit of comical news, the Wa Municipal Chief Executive is apparently angry at the school’s headmistress for ‘embarrassing’ the Assembly by making public the news of their plight. As if this phantom ‘embarrassment’ is more important than the health of these kids.
