The media landscape is saturated with blows and counter blows on this issue of Abraham Attah, who somehow became the subject of negative press despite his impressive achievements.
Presenters Jay Foley, MzGee and Lexis Bill passed not so flattering comments about Attah’s speeches on the award platforms, leading to vigorous backlash from almost all Ghanaians.
Comedian/Musician Kwame A-Plus also gave his two cents on the issue, explaining why the backlash to the ridicule for Attah was so swift and hard hitting. In a Facebook post, A-Plus condemned the state of punditry people like Jay Foley give us on air, interested in only pulling down our own stars whilst elevating foreigners.
A-Plus went in hard on them, asking them to leave Attah, a unique chance for the Ghanaian industry to rise again, alone- especially if they aren’t interested in raising the industry but rather condemning it.
