VIDEO: If You Pay Tithes And Do Not Pay Taxes You Would Not Go To Heaven- A Plus

Kwame A Plus
A-Plus underlined a very crucial issue regarding Ghanains and hypocrisy when he posted a video on Facebook addressed to Dr Mensa Otabil.
The preacher has in recent times taken a lot of flak for criticising government and calling on Ghanaians to demand more from our representatives; but Kwame A-Plus wants the pastor to take a different tack towards development in Ghana.
In his video, the comedian said the corruption stagnating the growth of this country is spread out all over, and not just in government. This is because despite being ultra religious and always criticising government, the average Ghanaian is more corrupt than most politicians, and would do the same if given the chance.
For A-Plus therefore, if the pastors spent as much time telling their congregants to pay their taxes and eschew corruption as they spend telling them to pay tithes, we would have a much better Ghana. If Dr Otabil and his colleagues tell their congregants that stealing electricity or cheating other Ghanaians to make some ‘noko fio’ would not send them to heaven, perhaps we would have a better country and wouldn’t have to blame government so much.
He’s right- of course. If only we practiced a quarter of what we preached, Ghana would be a far better place. Hypocrisy is dragging us back us more than anything else.

  1. I m sure Pastor Otabil has and will be a sort pastor who will tell his congregation to pu taxes, fact, since you don’t go to church and for that matter to his church in particular you don’t know all the messages he preaches. You only know what’s out there. I m a member of a branch of his church, and trust me I work and pay taxes. The bible does encourage us to obey those in authority, we may not agree all the time. Our Lord Jesus taught us to pay taxes “give to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar”. Mr Comedian I have a reason to think you just want to score cheap on trending issues.
