It’s an interesting day in Ghana, when the traditional priest quotes the Bible to get two supposed ‘men of God’ to lecture them on how to act with dignity.
These two, Bishop Daniel Obinim and Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah- have in recent times been flexing their muscles at each other, in a juvenile pissing contest to show which one of them has more powers from God.
Now the adult in the room, Kwaku Bonsam, has called on the two children to grow up. In an impassioned appeal to the two of them, Kwaku Bonsam asked them to concentrate on spreading the word of God, rather than willy-nilly getting into unnecessary controversies .
“You two should not behave in such a manner, it does not show you are true worshippers of the Lord” he said.
“I therefore implore you, Obinim and Owusu Bempah; please stay away from controversies and rather preach the gospel”.
Kwaku Bonsam, who has had run-ins in the past with both men, went on to indicate there were bigger problems in the country that required the attention of preachers. He even went on to quote some scripture to attempt to get them to relent.
Obinim, who heads the International Godsway Ministries, and Owusu Bempah, head pastor of the Glorious Word Ministries- have been embroiled in controversies non-stop since the beginning of the year. It came to a head in recent weeks, after Obinim claimed he could transform into animals, and made several other preposterous claims, leading Owusu Bempah to ask him to stop making a mockery of God. This led to a heated confrontation between both men on radio, that was supposed to lead to a clash of powers- but Obinim never showed.
