US President Barack Obama recently nominated US Appeals Court Justice Merrick Garland as the next Supreme Court Justice, to replace the late Antonin Scalia.
Obama is bracing for a bitter battle with Senate Republicans, who are determined not to confirm any nominee the President makes for the Supreme Court, arguing that in the last year of his term, he should let the next President make the pick.
Citizens being oblivious to issues in politics is nothing new, therefore Jimmy Kimmel Live took advantage of that to ask Americans for their thoughts on the nomination. However instead of asking about Merrick Garland, they replaced his name with other people, including Game of Thrones’ Tyrion Lannister.
The results, predictably, were hilarious; as people failed to pick up on the switch and continued to talk with confidence as if they knew what they were talking about.
