The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the weekend announced a decision to boycott two of the Despite Media Group’s radio stations, Neat Fm and Okay Fm.
One of the presenters at the centre of the boycott, Adakabre Frimpong Manso, has spoken out about the dangers he says the NPP flagbearer poses to him. Together with Neat Fm’s Nkrumah Tikesie, the two were the reason the NPP said both station were displaying bias against them and therefore decided to boycott.
Speaking on Joy Fm Monday, Adakabre had scathing words for Nana Akuffo-Addo, who he claims ‘abused and threatened’ him. He also said threats were made on his life.
“…Nana Addo abused and threatened me, I was so sad and scared but I kept quiet because I didn’t want to be the fall guy through which something happens and they would say it is because of Adakabre so I kept quiet.” The presenter told Kojo Yankson.
“I was afraid because…I was told to the face that you will be killed at a specific date, I have all the evidence, I can substantiate them…I have everything on my phone, I have kept the phones and I would be willing to show it to anybody who wants to see them,” Frimpong Manso said.
These are serious allegations, and he if has the evidence he claims he would have to substantiate them soon enough. The NPP are not going to rest in the face of this.
