Evangelist Lord Kenya, who before his conversion was one of the best hiplife artists this country ever produced, says none of the relics from his secular days survive unscathed.
During an appearance on the Starr Chat with Bola Ray Wednesday, Kenya revealed that his days as a hiplife artiste were a destructive portion of his life, when he lived with drugs as a constant companion.
“I did cocaine for twelve years” he told the veteran show host.
He added that the habit drained him of his cash, leading to a chaotic lifestyle. As a side effect, all his award plaques got broken, and he doesn’t even have one to be kept for posterity.
“All the awards have been broken,” he sombrely said.
Lord Kenya, born Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya, shocked everyone in 2012 when he came out to reveal himself as a preacher of the Lord’s word. For over a decade prior to that, he held Ghanaians in thrall as one of the best hiplife artists in the country, with many awards to his name.
He has since sworn never to go back to that secular life.
