Musician/Comedian Kwame A Plus has called on President John Dramani Mahama to reward the police officer who was pictured directing traffic during a storm in Accra just over a week ago.
The officer, who has been identified as Joshua Azure, become the subject of public discussions after a Facebook user took photos of him directing traffic whilst the rain poured down, a far cry from what normally happens in this country.
The user uploaded the photos online, praising the officer for the sacrifice he was making. Several commenter’s on the post echoed those sentiments, praising the officer and bemoaning the fact that there are few officers willing to do that.
In a Facebook post Thursday, A Plus implored the President to reward the officer for the job he did, much like the taxi driver who thwarted a robbery attempt was provided with a house.
He wrote:

Dear President Mahama, please reward this police officer, Mr Joshua Azure. He’s the officer who directed traffic during a heavy downpour. Please give him a house like you gave to the taxi driver. As for those officers who sleep on duty like these ones, Let Amochi take charge….”

  1. Reward him for what, mediocrity—for just doing his job as he should? I thought this A Plus dude was one of the “smart” ones but I guess I was wrong. Problem with Ghana is that our people’s standards are so low we get excited and expect praise for any little things we do that we think is outside of our “substan-ordinary”. A Plus, another villager who thinks he has “arrived”. Give us a break.
