If you ever hear anyone saying Ghana has a movie industry, slap that person 3 times for us—of course, except if the person is referring to Kumawood…
Kumawood is a rogue industry; it follows no rules and things are done anyhow—yet it seems to be immortal and once again, it has become the only thing left of Ghana’s once booming movie industry.
Ghallywood or whatever they call those who parade the fake accent with thick make-up and bad acting is totally dead and if you think we are exaggerating, ask Nadia Buari.
Since the English speaking session of the Ghana Movie Industry is totally dried up—the actors who once looked down on the Kumasi folks are gradually running to Kumawood so they can make some earns meet.
Van Vicker made a bold step some few years ago with his Johnny Walker-Kumawood collaboration—and now, Juliet Ibrahim, Prince David Osei and several others from the Ghallywood quarters have been spotted on a Kumawood set alongside Lil Win, Kwaku Manu and others.
It’s funny how things have tuned out—a clear case of, the stone that the builder rejects certainly becomes the head corner stone.
Anyway, flip to the next pages for photos….

  1. I would gladly laugh at David Dontoh if he ever ventures to do any Twi movie since he always downgrades them; but I’m sure in no-time he wld join the others.

  2. I honestly can’t respect this because these people are opportunists, why join them now, they’ve probably never supported or respected any twi movie actor apart from Nana Ama McBrown and now I bet they won’t even speak twi in the movie. They’re only joining them because no one has ever cared about Ghallywood or whatever they wanna call it.
