Some people deal fantastically with disappointment, moving on stoically despite a less than desired outcome. Some people, like this guy- not so much.
An applicant for a visa at the Italian embassy in Accra got frustrated after his application was denied, and tried to blow up the building in retaliation, leading to his arrest.
The frustrated man reportedly showed up with a gas cylinder and a lighter to blow the place up, demonstrating that even when it comes to terrorism, our methods are subpar.
Police luckily arrived to defuse the situation, and arrested the alleged bomber. He was reportedly infuriated because he was refused a visa and got into a misunderstanding with officials at the site.
“We understand he had a misunderstanding with the Embassy officials. When we came here earlier after the stone-throwing reports, he had left, only for him to return with gas and fire to attempt to carry out his threat”, Superintendent Raymond Aggrey Fynn, Head of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Police Service, told the assembled media.
The incident occurred Friday, and the man is in custody helping with investigations.
