Defiant Shatta Wale Hits Back At ‘Hyopcrites And Hungry’ Music Industry Players Following Statement Signalling Ban Of Profane Songs

‘Dancehall King’ Shatta Wale seems incensed by a MUSIGA statement contemplating banning the release of profane songs, turning his legendary wrath on its executives and other players in the industry.
In a post on Facebook lamenting the decision, Wale said the the music industry in Ghana is filled with ‘hypocrites and hungry industry players’ who only delight in pulling people down.
In a series of angry posts Thursday, Shatta said MUSIGA would not concentrate on educating artists on the business side of things but rather on stifling creativity. He dared them to ban artists like Daddy Lumba and others who might also sing profane songs as he did, but perhaps more subtly.
He wrote:

We have seen musicians come and go down. All because they dont speak out for their rights. This so called industry has made musicians so poor till now that musicians cant even make ends meat. Its a total disgrace to hear musigha come out to think banning of profane songs can change our industry but dont think of educating musicians to see this career as a business venture which most musicians need more than anything.Obuor and your team sit up cuz all what you see these days is called the “REVOLUTION”.

This issue has come front and centre after Shatta’s release of ‘Wo Maame Tw*’, and a MUSIGA statement pointing towards a ban on songs like that seems to have incensed the artiste.
Shatta Wale obviously does not plan on going quietly into the night, and is ready to take the fight to MUSIGA and the entire Ghanaian industry if he has to.
