5 Ghanaian Female Celebrities Who Have Gone the Distance in Their Marriage

Today we bring you the female version of that list. Getting this list was as difficult as picking a pin out of a haystack. Whereas I was spoilt for choice compiling the list for the males, this list was a burden I couldn't fathom. Why are our Ghanaian female celebrities not getting hitched? Out of curiosity, I researched on their counterparts in the Nigerian entertainment industry and you would be amazed how many of them are married and doing just fine. At a point in time during my research for this article, I wanted to give up and instead write on the gazillion Ghanaian female celebrities who have kids and are unmarried. Our entertainment industry has a lot of female celebrities who fall under that umbrella. Perhaps I should through this article, plead with our female celebrities to start getting married. Expect a future list of all our female celebrities who need to GET THEIR A$$ MARRIED. Let me get back to my list before I veer off topic. They have not heard the last of me tho. Menaye Donkor Menaye Donkor is a Canadian-born Ghanaian businesswoman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and former beauty queen who was named Miss Universe Ghana 2004, amidst several controversies and represented Ghana in Miss Universe 2004, and got a fast track to the quarter-finals. Donkor is the wife of Ghanaian professional footballer Sulley Muntari. Their marriage has had it's fair share of controversies following Menaye's purported refusal to give birth. They have been rumoured to be on the verge of divorce a good number of times. The Ghanaian power couple is no stranger to divorce rumours. However, it's been quite smooth for the couple lately following the birth of their son, Jamal. [caption id="attachment_77400" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Menaye Donkor[/caption] 2. Florence Obinim Popular Ghanaian gospel musician, Florence Obinim is married to the king of controversy, Bishop Daniel Obinim. The leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim has admittedly cheated on his wife a good number of times. He was rumoured to have said that his wife, Florence, was not good in bed and he reportedly said very bad and distasteful things about her sex organ. Why she is still married to him baffles even me. The gospel musician however continues to stand by her husband through thick and thin and defends him the least opportunity she gets. Beverly Afaglo The former actress (it's been ages we saw her in any movie) is married to Eugene Baah, also known as choirmaster, former member of hiplife group Praye. Beverly Afaglo and Choirmaster who used to be a member of the Praye group, got married way back in April 2012. The couple have two daughters, Violyn and baby number two. Baby number two's birth is quite recent and she's yet to be named. [caption id="attachment_77401" align="aligncenter" width="664"] Anita Erskine[/caption] 4. Anita Erskine Anita Erskine-Amaizo is an entrepreneur, TV and radio presenter and producer. She is currently the co-host of Starr fm's late afternoon show, the Starr drive. Anita Erskine is married, hence her inclusion in this list. She has two kids. She does a marvelous job of hiding her family from our ever prying eyes. She however had this to say about her husband in an interview; “Sometimes, I am out for more than two weeks and my husband takes care of the two children and never complains. He motivates me and always tells me to go in for the best. He is indeed heaven-sent and I love him so much.” [caption id="attachment_77402" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Selassie Ibrahim[/caption] 5. Selasie Ibrahim. Actress cum producer and business woman Selassie Ibrahim is the owner of Smartty's Management Limited. Yes you read right. The very same company that managed to defraud the state of Ghc 1.54m. She is married to Ibrahim Adam who served as a minister under President Rawlings, during which time he became engulfed in several corruption scandals as Minister of Agriculture. He was jailed in 2003 for the much talked about quality grain scandal, involving the former minister and other accomplices causing financial loss to the state to the tune of $22m. The super rich couple have two children aged seven and eleven. They got married some twelve years ago.
