Former winger for Accra Hearts of Oak, Uriah Asante, has tragically passed away aged 24.
Asante died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Monday. Initial reports indicate he succumbed unexpectedly to a heart attack.
Uriah played as a pacy winger for the Phobians a few years ago, forming a deadly partnership with Mahatma Otoo at the time.
The pacy forward played for Division One side Pure Joy Fc before hitting the limelight, and also played for Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia.
He was a key member of Ghana’s gold winning effort at the 2011 Africa Games in Maputo, and was also a graduate of the University of Ghana.
