Former President Jerry John Rawlings turns 69 on this day, the 22nd of June, 2016.
President Rawlings is the longest reigning head of state in our nation’s history, ruling for close to 20 years.
The 69 year old has remained semi-active in party politics since he left office, occasionally speaking out on a public matter with the ferocity only he can master – occasions that have been dubbed as ‘boom boom’.
The family’s political legacy is set to live on, with his daughter Zanetor in line to contest for Parliament in this year’s election.
Happy birthday to the former President!
