I literally cried my eyes out watching this new documentary by Joy Fm’s Seth Kwame Boateng on the shocking state of prisons in Ghana.
In my view, prisons should be a reform and rehabilitation centre more than a place to destroy or punish people. You can’t treat people like trash or animals and expect them to come back from the hole as gracious people.
“When you treat human beings like animals they come back into society as beasts and commit more crime,” said Majeed Nas, a Facebook friend.
The hotly-anticipated documentary premieres 4 pm today at the New Court Complex in Accra. High profile personalities including the Chief Justice, Georgina Wood and the Interior Minister, Proper Bani.
