Let’s Choose Peace Over Rights – Archbishop Duncan-Williams

Founder and head pastor of Action Chapel, Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has called on Ghanaians to strive for peace in the upcoming general elections.
Ghanaians go to the polls November 7 for Presidential and Parliamentary elections, and the veteran preacher says peace should be the most important consideration, much more than thinking about any perceived ‘rights’ of who should win or lose.
The archbishop was speaking on Joy Fm early Wednesday.
“This year is an election year and it is important for us to ensure peace in the election. No business, no banks, nothing operates; everything comes to a standstill. May we not see the peace of this country compromised even for rights. A time comes when you must choose between peace and rights,” he said.
“…Ghana will not fall apart. Ghanaians especially politicians should put Ghana first and not involve themselves in fights as it has been happening in other African countries in every election year” he added.
The issue of peace has become a big theme in the country as we approach these incendiary elections, with the President poised for a second term and the NPP desperate to avoid a third consecutive election loss.
