Ghana Third In The World In Marijuana Consumption – See The List Of Other Top Consuming Nations

marijuana
The global ranking of highest marijuana consuming nations sees Ghana gain a top three spot, ranked third in the world.
Whilst the 2014 UN report placed Ghana as number one, we have since been overtaken by, believe it or not – North Korea – and Cambodia.
Upper East Regional Minister Albert Abongo disclosed this ranking during the commemoration of the annual International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Bolgatanga.
Ghana remains the top consumer of the drug, which is illegal here, on the continent. The three Northern Regions are the foremost users of the so-called ‘international herb’.
Globally, there is a strong movement to move the drug off the illegal classification, and regulate and tax it rather to raise revenue and better control its use. Former UN boss Kofi Annan is an outspoken advocate for the measure, which several countries such as The Netherlands and Uruguay are already running.
Check out the 2015 list of highest consuming marijuana nations worldwide.
1 Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
2 Cambodia
3 Ghana
4 The Netherlands
5 Uruguay
6 Iceland
7 Czech Republic
8 Nigeria
9 Jamaica
10 Portugal
