Courtesy of Ideal Finance, the 2016 Overall Best Journalist at the annual GJA will receive a brand new SUV—Hyundai Creta and the best financial reporter will receive also receive a Hyundai i10.
In presenting the cars to the organisers of the GJA at an event in Accra yesterday, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Ideal, Dr Nii Kotei Dzani, said the “gesture was aimed at encouraging journalists and the media to pursue excellence and hard work”, reports Graphic Online.
He said: “The role the media, particularly journalists, play is crucial in every nation. Without them, the entire nation will operate in blindness.”
He added: “I realised that we need to support journalists because without them, nothing can work.”
In accepting the two cars on behalf of the GJA, the President of the GJA, Mr Affrail Monney commended Dr Dzani for the support—and added that it would boost the morale of journalists, considering the high risk they encountered the daily risk they take in line of their duties.
