The president John Dramani Mahama took time to visit the families that suffered as a result of a fire outbreak at Mampong in the Ashanti Region. Last month when the country was just about getting over the June 3 “twin disaster” that claimed many lives in 2015, another tragedy plagued the country.
A woman lost her entire family when fire gutted her residence amongst other losses.
The president who happened to be in Kumasi paid a courtesy call to the bereaved and offered his sincerest condolences.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon, speaking on the maiden edition of Abusua 96.5 FM’s morning show, ‘Abusua Nkomo’ hosted by Kwame Adinkrah revealed that President Mahama donated a sum of GH¢15,000 to the bereaved families.
