Determination Always Pays Off Is No Cliche : Valuable Lessons I Learnt From The Movie "Creed"

CREED-9-1200x674_optOnly heaven knows why I have missed out on this movie all this while. I’ve had it on my pen-drive for a long while but I’ve not being moved to watched it until today. I don’t know if tears welling up is from how good the movie is or how valuable I’ve picked up a few lessons for me. I understand the outrage now when it missed out in the Oscars.
The movie creed taught me a value lesson of fighting on and making a name for yourself, even when all odds are against you. It doesn’t matter how big the battle is, you’ve just got to keep going and prove YOURSELF right.
Creed is a 2015 American sports drama film, directed by Ryan Coogler. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson Creed, Apollo’s son, with Sylvester Stallone reprising the role of Rocky Balboa.
Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring.
When fighting the success battle, everyone else will write you off, it’s a battle against YOU. We grow up in a society where we mostly rely on our family legacy. You’re guaranteed a job in a top firm once your dad is at the echelon of that institution. We brag about where our family this or that works? How many times have you heard the phrase “Do you know who I am” in this parts? The most important part in there is we all have to make a name for ourselves irrespective of the roots we came from.
Fight our own battles. Keep pushing and getting back up even when the odds are against you. All we need is the love of the people around us.
We may lose sometimes, take a big L like our generation loves to say. It will be thrown in your face every time, all we have to do is believe and keep moving on. We’re going to look back one day and appreciate all those experiences. Yes! They’re not failures, they are experiences we picked up on the way to the top. Adonis Creed proved himself to the world, it’s about time we put our past behind us and move on and win this battle. He fought a battle that was to all futile even before it started yet he emerged victorious.
This may be fictitious but it is in as much real as death, working hard with determination and perseverance sure would get one to the bakery not just a bite of the cake.
Being Apollo Creed’s son and having Rocky Balboa in his corner gave him a shot at world success, they did not step in the ring with him. All the legends in the world can’t help you fight. You are there by dint of hard work and consistency. That is something of value to learn. Only You will define your success.
It won’t be easy but would be absolutely worth it.
