DOWSU Reports That 2,807 Ghanaian Men Were ‘Beaten’ By Their Wives in 2015

Though domestic violence may seem like one sided coin when we quickly think about it, in reality, some women are also abusing and beating the hell out of their men.
Domestic violence in any form or way, either from the man or from the woman is unacceptable. But it’s particularly interesting and a little weird to count that as much as 2,807 men were beaten by their wives in 2015 alone in Ghana.
And these are those who made official reports—with many more expected not to have come out because of what society would think of them.
According to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOWSU) of the Ghana Police Service, as reported by The Ghanaian Times, a total of 2,807 men reported domestic abuse cases against their wives last year as against 3,143 the previous year.
Also, 13,465 women reported domestic violence cases against their spouses last year as against 15,207 the previous year.
The cases reported by the men included denial of sex and food, use of abusive languages, assault among others.
