No one will be happy in prison and therefore it does not come as a shock that Minister of Trade and Industry, Ekow Spio Garbrah who recently visited the Montie Fm’s three in prison is saying they are not happy being locked up.
Spio Gabrah has reportedly said that the three “were very high spirited and of course they were not happy to be in prison. I don’t think anybody serves prison sentence happily.”
He added: “We were able to laugh just to keep their spirits. Alistair was not in good faith on that particular day, he felt ill so we were not actually able to meet him. But Ako Gunn and Mugabe were the two who walked with us to the officers room and engaged with us for some time.”
And that wasn’t all, he also said the three are hoping for a presidential pardon, on the back of a petition which has been signed heavily by NDC sympathisers, including Ministers of State.
Spio Gabrah also stated that he decided to visit the three in prison to “know how they were faring and to assure them that majority of the people of Ghana, irrespective of political persuasion sympathize with them…”
