It wasn’t long ago that someone sang Kumkum Bhagya would bring trouble one day, and it looks like he’s not the only one worried about the addiction.
A unit committee member in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region, identified as one Frank Livenson, has echoed the same fears about the uber popular Adom TV telenovela that brings the country to a standstill every evening.
Speaking at the launch of a football team in the area, Livenson reportedly said that the Indian soap would destroy the future of this country.
“I wish we could do something about Kumkum Bhagya…it is actually destroying the future of our children.” he said.
“The children no longer learn. When it is time for the kids to do homework, you will find them sitting behind the TV watching that thing they call Kumkum Bhagya.
“Kumkum Bhagya will destroy the future of this country. Even mothers and sisters no longer take their domestic responsibilities serious. They have all been corrupted by Kumkum Bhagya,” he added.
The distraught Livenson had one final complaint to make about the show.
“Kumkum Bhagya doesn’t reflect our culture. It is very strange to Africa, it is Indian and why should we be glorifying it?” he wondered.
