Bishop Daniel Obinim should present himself to police at least today, as a 24 hour ultimatum handed to him by police in Tema nears expiry.
The police have invited the Bishop for questioning following the lodging of a complaint against him for flogging two church members, who he says are his wards, for engaging in pre marital s*x.
The Bishop has yet to honour the invitation, forcing police to give him until Monday to make an appearance. But his aide Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya says the Bishop is law abiding, and would honour the invitation.
“He is a law abiding citizen. He has stated many times on radio that he respects Ghana police service, he respects the judicial system, he respects the institutions of government and if any invitation is extended to him he will humbly go,” Mr Brenya told Joy News.
He added that Obinim was out of town, which is why he has yet to see the police.
