Taylor Swift Turns Up For Jury Duty In Nashville But Is Excused By Presiding Judge

Pop star Taylor Swift missed this year’s MTV VMA’s, an absence that could be attributed to 100 and 1 things. Another plausible reason, though, is that she had jury duty on Monday.
The pop star turned up in court in Nashville, Tennessee, to sit on a case involving aggravated rape and kidnapping. Her presence turned the court upside, as several jurors massed up to take photos and get her autograph.
As for the case itself, though, the judge excused Swift from sitting on it. Taylor informed the court that she was involved in a similar upcoming case of s*xual assault, a civil case involving a fan who is suing her.
“She asked to be left off out of concern for an upcoming trial in Denver where she was – she used the term – ‘groped’ by a fan at a meet-and-greet,” Ken Whitehouse, a spokesman for the Davidson County district attorney general’s office, told the Associated Press.
