These guys are every where these days, and they are moving with the times as well, now chatting people up on Facebook and the like. Immediately you accept their friend request, they start bombarding you with messages talking about their prowess.
Turns out there can be consequences to their actions, after one of them who defrauded a trader out of over Ghc 10,000.
He reportedly took Ghc 8,000 from him which he promised to turn into Ghc 80,000 – and later took another Ghc 3,540 from him to buy items to pacify the gods.
After failing to double the money or return it, the trader reported him to the authorities who picked him up.
He was sentenced to three months in prison with hard labour, and a fine of Ghc 3,600 to pay up or in default serve two more years. He has already paid some of the money back after his arrest.
According to GraphicOnline, Benjamin Doe, the fetish priest, ran an ad on a local tv station talking about his ‘money doubling’ powers. The victim saw the ad and went to see him for him to work his magic.
What are we going to do as a country about those ads, which are everywhere on traditional media.
