A wanted man was so thick to use his own wanted poster as Facebook profile, leading to his arrest.
According to Stuart Police, they were able to track Mack Yearwood and arrest him after he used his own wanted poster as his Facebook profile picture–he was being wanted for outstanding warrants as well as a possible tie to an open case.
“Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family,” Cpl. Brian Bossio wrote in a post on the Stuart Police Department’s Facebook page.
“If you are wanted by the police, it’s probably not a good idea to use the ‘Wanted of the Week’ poster of yourself as your profile pic,” he added.
Last week, police responded to an alleged battery at a local home, the victim pointed Yearwood who had fled as a possible suspect.
Officers started looking into the 42-year old man and found the outstanding warrants–and also stumbled on his Facebook account.
“The patrol guys, to look where he was and for some intelligence, they went to his Facebook page,” Bossio told ABC News.
“They discovered that he used his wanted poster for his Facebook profile,” he added.
Later, Yearwood, was found sleeping in his brother’s house without clothes so officers asked him to dress up. And when he began to dress, the police say, “a bag of weed” fell out of his pants pocket, resulting in a cannabis possession charge.”
