Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is back and he’s berating Parliament for their failure to look into the Ford gift bribery saga against the President.
The minority brought impeachment proceedings against the President for the issue, but Speaker of Parliament Hon Doe Adjaho threw out the motion, insisting the minority channel their grievances through the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, hunger strike embarker, is furious with the speaker for the action, insisting that CHRAJ is the second most useless body in Ghana after the Council of State. In his estimation, if the case is headed to CHRAJ then its as good as dead.
“So disappointed in the speaker of Parliament. It’s a shame to him personally and to the institution” Ampaw said of the decision.
“Parliament has an oversight responsibility, not CHRAJ. When you take away the Council of State, which I’ve said is one of the most useless institutions, CHRAJ follows.”
Ampaw said the body does not even have a substantive chair, making it virtually useless to go after the President.
