Britney Spears is enraged over an upcoming story of the magazine ‘In Touch’, and has instructed her attorneys to warn them of legal action if they do run the story.
TMZ have obtained a copy of the ‘scathing letter’ Britney’s lawyers wrote to the magazine, and apparently they are laying down the law in a big way.
The story is supposedly about Britney being at the MTV VMA’s and acting erratically backstage, including “talking and laughing to herself and using a British accent.”
Britney’s lawyers say the story is “utterly false, highly defamatory and completely offensive to Ms. Spears.” – and have served notice to meet In Touch in court if they do choose to run the piece.
“A source connected with Britney tells TMZ, the singer and her team are sick of “made-up” stories, especially in the face of how hard she’s worked to turn her life around.” the site wrote. “They say if the story runs they will absolutely sue the magazine, adding this will be the first of many lawsuits to stop the lies.” the site notes.
